HostGator Review - What Makes it the Best Web Hosting by Jomar Pabuaya

When I first started my blog back on September 2006, I had not taken the time to research webhosting. If I would have taken the time I would have found out about the top 10 Web Hosting companies that existed during this time.

At first I was satisfied with my web hosting company until my blog's traffic started to decrease drastically. At this time I knew that I needed to contact customer service for help. I attempted to do just that. I would soon come to learn that the promise that they advertised saying their company's customer's support was available 24/7, was not true at all. In my attempt to call customer support nobody answered their phones. After this I attempted to contact their company through their live chat option. Finally the last thing I attempted out of desperation, was their ticketing system (similar to email), looking for an answer that never came that day nor the next. In fact the answer to my problem did not come until about three or four days later. Sadly enough, I learned a new definition of these two words, "Live and 24/7."

Do not allow yourself to be trick with Unlimited Bandwidth and Disk Space

At this time I transferred my web hosting to other company (but not my current web hosting now). Sorry if I cannot disclose to you who they are, in order to protect their business. I admit that at that time, I did make a thorough research to determine who really was telling the truth. Since they have a great service with cheap packages, unlimited bandwidth, and unlimited disk space, I selected this company.

Resource Usage Truth:

A few months had passed since I had made the change to this new web-hosting company, when without warning I received an email with a complaint about my excessive use of their web server's resources.

In response, I emailed them back asking them why they claimed to be providing a service of unlimited bandwidth and space. This company was not like the first company, I received a response back with an answer to my question in a timely manner. They explained it to me that Disk space and bandwidth is completely different from resource usage. Their advertisement was just a buffer to gain customers for their cheap packages.

Soon my quest to research to find the answer to the best web-hosting had once again started. At this time, after many months with a new hosting company, "HostGator," I was finally happy. Their Technical Support, Live Chat, Ticketing System, Toll Free and the thing I like most is a Transparent System so I can tell how much resource usage that I consume.

Conclusion:

If you want to start your blog, my advice would be to make sure to try a web hosting company's service before spending your money on a useless web host provider. This can be done by going to their website and seeing if they have a demo of their control panel. If they don't have one, request it from them. This way you will know what CPU they are using. If they are only using 2 CPU's then you have a clue that this could be a potential problem at later time.

How to Choose the Right CMS for Your Website by mark spenser

Ever since the arrival of Content Management Systems, it has created a lot of buzz in the world of internet. CMS is defined by Wikipedia as "A 'web content management' (WCM) system is a CMS designed to simplify the publication of Web content to Web sites, in particular allowing content creators to submit content without requiring technical knowledge of HTML or the uploading of files." It is an efficient system that can manage the content of the website very easily. In short, it enables a layman with no knowledge of HTML to create, modify, or remove the website content without typing a single code.

Open source CMS is popular for several reasons with the web development companies as well as the clients. Some of the reasons are as follows:

-Better control over the creation, publishing of the content as well as uploading images and files. - The clients can have a dynamic blog style of content display right from the change in the fonts to read more links. - To have an integrated web administration control of the website. - The owner can make the website content highly interactive as the visitors can add content easily too with CMS. - The owner of the website can have public as well as private sections of web content that can be accessed by a registered user.

There are several kinds of Content Management Systems available these days such as Wordpress content development, Joomla content development, Drupal and many more. However, not all CMS have the same features and therefore, it is essential to make the right choice for your website. Web-based publishing, format management, revision control, indexing, search, and retrieval are some of the features that are commonly found in all the content management systems. The two main aspects to consider while choosing a CMS for an organization are: 1. The size of the organization definitely is the first and foremost factor to take into consideration. If the company is very large and has several international offices then it becomes quite difficult. 2. The different electronic data forms used by the company are the second point of concern. The content management can become difficult if the there is too much use of text documents, graphics, videos, audio and diagrams and so on for communicating the message. Hence, a large company needs to assess the needs and also the Content Management System they choose to manage website content.
